Separating low-carb from keto

Reducing carbohydrate intake and deliberately eating ketogenically are different approaches.

Beyond a label

Carbohydrate amounts depend on the definition and the whole day’s intake. A vegetable-rich recipe variation is therefore not automatically a ketogenic daily plan. Meat, fat or restriction alone do not demonstrate nutritional adequacy.

What needs context

Low-carb may help some adults with type 2 diabetes in the short term; this does not establish lasting superiority for everyone. Medication, diabetes and special life stages require individual coordination. Ketoacidosis is dangerous and is not the same as nutritional ketosis.
