Website access and hosting
The website is hosted on an OVHcloud server in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. When you access it, the server technically processes your IP address, the page or file requested, the time of the request and technical protocol information to deliver the requested content over HTTPS and secure the connection. The Caddy web server is configured without a standard visitor HTTP access log. The IP address is technically processed during transmission. Caddy and operating-system error or security diagnostics may in individual cases contain further technical connection or request details. Such diagnostic data is accessed only for operational or security purposes; retention depends on the specific diagnostic need and the technical configuration. OVHcloud may process technical operational and security data as hosting provider under its own contractual and privacy terms.
The legal basis for technical delivery and security is our legitimate interest in operating a functional and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is not used for advertising or audience measurement. Recipients are the hosting provider and, where technically necessary, its infrastructure and support services. The server is located in Frankfurt am Main. See OVHcloud's data protection information for its privacy and processor terms.
Search, saved items and browser storage
Search runs in your browser using a locally delivered content file. Search terms and filters are not sent to a search service. The website does not use tracking, advertising cookies or analytics tools. It loads font files from this website; no external font or video embeds are used.
When you use the relevant features, your browser stores settings and content locally: display preference, text size, read sections and progress, the last sample pages viewed, and items you choose to save. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can remove it in your browser's website data settings. These features do not use cookies.
Some links open external services, including YouTube. Only when you click one of these links does your browser connect to that provider; the provider may then receive your IP address and technical connection data. Its own privacy notice applies; for YouTube, see Google's privacy notice. The pilot video file hosted here is served by our own server.
Contact by email
If you email us, we process your sender address and the information in your message to answer your request. The message is transmitted through the email providers involved, including Google for the Gmail mailbox at the published contact address. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for a requested service or pre-contractual enquiry, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (handling enquiries). Messages are deleted once the matter is closed unless statutory retention duties or legitimate record-keeping interests apply. Contact is voluntary; without the necessary information we may not be able to reply. Google's privacy notice applies to Google's processing. Depending on the service and circumstances, Google may process data outside the EEA; see its information on data-transfer frameworks.
Your rights
Subject to the legal requirements, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
